About Mike
 When you talk about Masters of the arts, Mike truly is a Master at all of the projects he tackles. He's been playing with leather most of his life.
Starting at a very young age in 4-H club and in Industrial Arts at school, it then became a source of extra income, by making assorted projects and selling them to friends, craft shows etc.
He progressed to producing world class custom western saddles for ~20 years, from the plain to the ornate, and everything in between.
Mike also always had a love for motorcycles, and over the years has created some real masterpieces, from custom motorcycle seats, saddlebags, and chaps etc.
He presently resides in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada.
 Mike is also a musician/guitar player, who had a duo named Watkins Glen who performed for 7 years. He recently took a break from performing, as he became very busy with his 'many other talents'.
He also enjoys doing a bit of wood work, his first project being a Grandfather clock. (there's nothing like diving off the deep end!). He had a chance in a lifetime opportunity to learn clock making from a true Master, Gilbert Sasseville. This occurred when he saw some of Mike’s leather work and insisted that he hand carve leather panels for his clocks. In exchange, Mike refused the Master clock makers money, and asked him to show him the art of making these magnificent masterpieces. A truly magnificent relationship was born.
Mike makes his clocks one piece at a time, all by hand, and they also have leather carved inlays and hand carved wood accents to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
Another big love of Mike’s life are his hand carved tree 'bark spirits'. They also are unique, and he only carves in the summer when he is out on camping/fishing trips with his lovely wife LeeAnn.
The bark spirits that Mike carves are quickly gaining in popularity, (you can get them individually, or as a set of 2 or even 3 - small, med, large), and they are truly magnificent.
All of the projects that Mike creates receive the exact same, attention to detail and passion, being in leather or wood or the 2 combined. He assures his customers that every piece he creates are all pieces that you would be extremely proud to own, and that they will live on and could proudly be passed on from generation to generation.
